Paris France [ENA] Paris Photo is the most prestigious gathering of art galleries in the world of photography . It takes place at the famous museum Le Grand Palais in the heart of Paris. This year, the 22nd edition will host 166 galeries and 31 publishers, from the 8th to the 11th of November.

The fair was founded in 1997 by an editor who wanted to create one of the main international events of historical and contemporary photography, in all its aspects, from documentary to fine art. Reed Expositions have managed the event since 2011. The development has been quite impressive with 64,500 visitors welcomed in 2017 and 189 exhibitors featured from 30 different countries.

A new concept is born for 2018, Curiosa ; every year a specific photographic theme will be brought to light. This year it will be "the relationship with the body". Daido Moriyama, Nobuyoshi Araki and Robert Mapplethorpe will exhibit among 11 other photographers. Another new sector of 2018, Elles X Paris Photo, will honor the work of women photographers by tracing a thread of history on photography under their prism. Women, finding it a means of expression and personal emancipation, devote themselves to this art with the greatest passion, allowing them to reach a professional and artistic practice on a par with men.
